After five years in the Royal Navy, numerous dead-end jobs Nick left to travel for more uncertainty, drifting between places and occupations. In 2008 Nick enrolled at Edinburgh Napier University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Film. Nick graduated in 2012 and now focus on his art practice and commissioned based assignments in Paris.
Nick approach to photography and film stems from the natural and emotional qualities within himself and the person he is photographing. He is known for his unique and detailed portrait/fashion and fine art photography in Europe and North America. Based in Paris, available for commissions, he is willing to travel for assignments.
Nick's fine art work explores notions of memory through studies in form, gesture and mimicry within portraiture, still life and moving image(s). Nick is interested in the relationship between image and text and how one influence the other; guiding a viewer to connect with the work. In exploring the subjective and objective nature of photography Nick aim's to categories studies of human form and behavior while exploring the medium of photography.
